I gave up my career in hairstyling to focus on returning to retail. A friend of mine suggested that I do my own concept, I don’t regret that decision for one moment. Creating Mars was one of the best things I’ve done. I wanted a space for accessible quality clothing. We’ve been around for 10 years and continue to grow in both our bricks and mortar and online locations.
Where do you see your brand in the clothing industry?
As a curated retailer we aim to serve our community. We evolve with the demand of our local market as well as our international supporters. The selection will change seasonally depending on the desires of our customer. Our formula is our customers.

How was your experience with Shopify so far and with our Split theme?
Shopify is a superior platform to the one we were using with lots of customizations available make it easy to alter depending on what we need. Krown Themes has been such a huge help in our success. The ease of use and features in the new update make us feel like we can compete with the best sites out there. What advices would you give to someone trying to start a clothing store?
- Time is one of the most valuable things you can control.
- You’ll have to get comfortable with a lot of trial and error.
- Keep a variety in your clothing categories.
- Finally, take criticism in stride.
